can you name this wire.

Noriega. Or Octavio.

An orange wire bolted to ground on or around the rear of the passenger side head (so the trans fill tube) is most likely the oxygen sensor ground.

lmao love the names. i moved it cuz it was soaked in oil. so i cleaned the wire and bolted it to the upper intake. Should I move it back or will it be fine.

As long as it is grounded well it should be fine. So basically, bolted tightly to any piece of metal.

Sounds good. I have another question. There is a big slpice for ground that the tps, map, and other wires go to. I don't real understand why all these sensors are tied to one splice. How is the PCM supposed to tell the difference.

I tried to figure that out once and concluded it is that way because that is the way it works!

That's what I'm thinking too Kim. Cuz if you separate them it won't start. They were corroded pretty bad so put a heat shrink butt connector on it. I'm still trying to figure out my intermittent torque converter lock up issue. Any ideas kim

Intermittent faults are normally wire/connector related. Pull all connectors apart and clean with electrical cleaner then put back together with dielectric grease. If you can push all the pins in from both sides with a jewelers screwdriver. This includes the computer connector. Go through and sand all grounds metal to metal you can find. Inspect all wires for burnt, broken or bare wires and fix as necessary. The best repair is to solder in good wire and shrink tubing.

Great! Thanks Kim. It will be a weekend project but I think I can get it done. Thx for the advice.

Ok I got all the butt connectors gone. Replaced with fresh solder. And shrink wrapped. Torque converter still engages in first and sec gear. Now it won't stay locked in overdrive. It locks and unlocks quickly. :dunno:
