Alright, been bored lately and after finishing up my other car project (87 5.0 Mustang) I have been looking for something to do....so into the Ranger I go. I needed a hitch, so I built one. Looks good IMO and works great!

Then after that, figuring I had a good tow point in the back, I needed something in the front, so I came up with this

I added the cross member for strength and figured it would be a good spot to mount a bumper guard...so I made one. I think it turned out really good!

I also made myself up a set of extended shackles since I have decided to lift my truck more. I have a set of Chevy 63" springs to go with them once I install the front lift

So next weekend, the plans are to install my new lift with the 63's...we will see how that goes

Then my next plans are to build a set of extended radius arms and some rear bumper guards or a whole new rear bumper...we will see on that one.

Thanks for looking!

Nice. You should spray those tow hooks black. Awesome idea btw, I like that instead of cutting the front of your truck up.

Very Nice, But you are about to kill the Big Wheel if you do that there will be no more druken fun for your buddys to ride around on. and don't act like non of you have.
But my ?? is what are you using for your org. D-ring. I like that Idea.

LOL....howd you know??? I knew i shoulda moved it!

It is a 3" wide lifting clevis I used at work..it fit on the hitch, so along with a grade 8 bolt it went on and stayed, it works great.

It's painted black and has the holding pin holes drilled out now,

But isn't it more fun building it yourself than spending your hard earned cash on some pile of garbage hitch?:icon_thumby:

I like your round tubing method better than my square tubing. It's 3" square by 1/4" wall(OVERKILL!!). :icon_surprised:

Weighs about 40lbs, but it's guarrented to pull a D-11 bulldozer out of the mud.:icon_rofl:(what my dad told me)
