can the m5od 2nd gear sync be replaced in b2

my 2nd gear sync is just about gone in my 1990 b2
can i fix it with out pulling the transmission out of the truck???

btw it will be the first time i have ever opened a transmission and tried to fix anything.

No, you cannot do that with the transmission in the vehicle. It requires removal of the main shaft, a part that cannot even be seen with the transmission in the vehicle.

if i am going to have to pull it ill look for a parts truck and get a replacement..
then fix mine and have it for a back up.
