My credo
A legend to the old man, a hero to the child...
Went in for my 2 year DOT physical BS. My durabilty must be on par with a 300I6 cause my upper middle age ass passed with flying colors.

However...wtf does the size of your neck have to do with sleep apnea? I sleep just fine with no abnormal tiredness yet my neck is 16.5 in in circumfrence, the nurse lady said that at 17 id have to go get tested...

I dont get it, yes im 6'1 and tipped the scales at 280 which according to tbe BMI scale puts me as high obese...but im just built similar to a fridge. So how in the hell can me having a large neck have to do with anything?

Well we know Rusty aint no pencil neck...

Probably has something to do with constricting your airway while laying down.

Somebody on a grant somewhere, dug through a bunch of reports and found that people with sleep apnea tend to have bigger necks..... and didn't bother to figure out if this was a 5 foot person, or a 7 foot tall person, or anything in between. Correlation, but not causation. Anyway everyone in my family is built like a brick and we all have big necks and shoulders - tall, short, or anything in between.

BMI is almost as useless of a "measurement" as well.

The only measurement that matters is belly button depth...

One of my former techs was denied disability insurance because he weighed 280. He's over 6' tall and is a diesel tech, he's got extraordinary upper body strength and muscle mass has weight. I have an 18" neck because of the exercises I do to keep my neck and back pain in control, if I buy shirts that let me button the collar they fit like a tent. It saved me from having to wear a tie before I retired. The "specs" that are used to define people are meaningless, we're all different.

So, think this guy snores?

Wrong !!! Only measurement is the length of your, uhhh, well, you know !

I think it's just a statistical correlation that they use to quickly filter out the people of highest risk and test further as needed.
