Yes, I saw that :)

Explorer Sport was 104" wheel base
B2 94"
Sport was also about 500-800lbs heavier, I think

Sport was less prone to Roll Overs as well
1 of every 500 B2s made was involved in a FATAL roll over, more were rolled, but 1 in 500 ended in someone dead.
While Ford denied this is why the B2 was discontinued in 1990, the lawsuits and payouts were real and hard to dismiss as the reason why Ford stopped production.

Cam put a gen2 Explorer front end on his B2, that should make the gen 4 front end a small step.

How would the shadow lines line up? I'm not real familiar with the newest body lines.

I personally would love to see a new one done but with the early model body lines and todays engine and drive train. 4.6 ecoboost, 6 speed auto. Retro with all new electronics lol. Hell they're already doing the big Bronco so why not. :yahoo:

Why did the BroncoII's roll so easy? Were they too short? If they were a little too short, maybe the newer cab, which is 2 or 4 inches longer (can't remember which), than the older cabs, would help some. Maybe build it a tad shorter than the older ones, maybe that would help, too???

Somehow the two BII's I bought new have amassed over 537K miles, '85/ 248K, '89/289K, with various and sundry pilots, without a single rollover or death. The fact is that stoopid, speed and booze kill, whatever you drive.

And yet they were by no means the tippiest SUV out there...

They don't.

I wanted to put a first gen Ranger front clip on a second gen Explorer to make a 4dr BII of sorts. Nothing really lines up.

They rolled easy from stupid drivers not knowing how to properly drive. They are more stable than you think they are. They weren't a sports car which for some reason the higher the vehicle sits the narrower the body/axles the faster people seem to want to try and turn with them LOL...yet they almost come to a stop in their sports car before making the same turn.

they are no more top heavy than a jeep wrangler it's the mentality of the driver that causes the issues of Rollin over.
