My credo
I wish I could have added "archeologist and general mechanic" to my teaching degree.
I may have chosen the wrong place for this question, but I didn't; find much help in any of the other sections...I have a 1990 Ranger XLT
4x4 super cab with the 2.9L The "cooling breeze" of the ac worked for about 6 months when I bought it in 1991. Have any of you changed out this ac and had it work? Lol, I spent about 80,000 miles, and 21 years sweating it out. (Plus, I believe the belt runs over the ac anyhow, so it's been "working" for years. I'll go double check that belt, I could be wrong..). If you have a part # or photo you could put up, it would help me look for the right unit. Thank you very much,💨⛄️Jeri

Id start by figuring out whats wrong with it.

Does it leak?

Clutch engage the compressor?

Compressor spins?

All the parts to fix it are available
