Hey Fellow Ranger Heads.....
I am moving from Oregon and am not sure if I can take my Ranger.
I love my little truck and really don't want to sell it.
I'll be in an area that requires the test.
If I can't pass smog when I move to California I will have a useless truck.
I have read various posts and can not really come up with a definitive answer.
Will my 1990 2.3L 5speed pass smog since it is a 49 state vehicle.
Or, if I change the plugs, wires, oil, 02 sensor, maybe put on a new cat converter, do I stand a chance:icon_confused:
My rig is in mint like condition and burns no oil and the filler neck to the gas tank appears to be flexible and not cracked.
I can't sell my baby.......Please say it isn't so.........:bawling:

I have brought many vehicles here from out of state and I've never had a problem smogging ANY of them...... I would get a pre-test done on it, and if you take care of it as good as you say you do, it shouldn't be a problem at all..........

When you say pre-test, do you mean have it tested at a facility here in Oregon to get an idea where its at?

in 1990 i don't belive there were any differences between the federal and ca model 2.3l. you should be fine.
