camshaft syncro problems

Hello can some one point me to a camshaft syncro for my 1995 ford ranger
4.0. according to my mechanic it needs to be replaced along with the sensor. My mechanic can not find one nor can I. Ive tried all of the local part stores and searched the internet as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated as this part appears to be necessary for the function of the truck including emmisons regulations in my area.

I have same problem

I also have a 1995 Ranger and need a camshaft position sensor. Ford says I have to buy the whole synchro and its about $500!!!! AM autoparts listed the part and then told me they couldn't get it. I've been searching everywhere for over a month with no success. Please let me know if you find one, I will do the same.

might wanna trya junk yard if you havent already.. i have a bunch over where i am and they seem to have what i am looking for most of the time. if you can get one from there for cheep enough then it may be worth it.. i know the guys up here may not know what the part is so i would go and piont it out to them. some times they dont charg as much if you are willing to pull it yourself.

You can get them at NAPA and they have a couple different options.

Ask for a kit, they should be able to find it in the catalog, that contains the shaft, sensor, and alignment tool. It's cheaper than the shaft or sensor itself that way. The alignment tool is like 80 bucks itself. I think I paid $47 and change for the kit. I forget now, but they might have a different name for it than a camshaft synchronizer. I'll try to remember to check receipts this weekend.

NAPA calls them crankshaft angle sensors.


You want the bk6002905. It has it everything you need, is NEW and is cheap.

Oh yeah, no core either.

Doesn't make logical sense, but makes sense to the wallet!
