when installing the camshaft synchronizer on a 1994 4.0 ranger without california emissions, since it doesn't have a camshaft position sensor does it still need the special tool to install?

no. the syncronizer is just there to drive the oil pump.

well that's retarted cuz the dealership told me that's what i did wrong on my truck. that really pisses me off. they think i have a cmp and i don't. correct me if i'm wrong but 1991 to 1994 4.0 L without california emissions did not have a cmp right?
