I am new to this site. I have a '98 Mazda B4000 with 4.0L I recently changed camshaft sensor and shaft cause check engine light came on, the cap was missing the center part and the shaft was mangled on the top. New one fit right in. I am still getting P0340 code, why? any help would greatly be appreciated.

First, welcome to TRS!

Did you get the new sensor properly aligned?

If it's properly aligned, you can try resetting the PCM by disconecting the negative battery cable, and touch it to the positive battery terminal.

I think so the new shaft dropped right in it lined up with the old one i deleted all codes and it still comes back i even replaced the sensor with a new one

There is a tool you are suppose to use to correctly line up the cam synchronizer. It sounds like your didn't do that which is causing your code.
