Camshaft Options

Word on the street is that the '89 and up non EGR 2.9L motors had a more aggressive cam then those before '89. I can't find any reliable specs on them from year to year. Has anyone herd about this- know anything about it?

If they did have different camshaft profiles it did not affect the horsepower or torque rating of the motors.
