I have a 88 ranger. I made the coil spacer 1.25in. I know the camber is out of adjustment, the axle I have has the castlenut and carter pin and not the pinch bolt. I was trying to see if what I had on the truck could adjust it out before I take it to an alignment shop. But I don't know how to get adjuster to come up and spin around. How do you get it loose? Does it require taking the ball joints loose and dropping the steering knuckle? Because I can't get it to budge.

Thanks for any advice or information on this problem.

Interesting.
Being that old, it'd be best to remove the knuckle and replace the ball joints since I would guess they're rusted to the alignment bushing.
Just use a cold chisel and slowly work around the edge and hit it upwards, it took me a hour each to do mine.

The front end seems pretty solid would the ball joints be alright to remove and put back after I get camber adjuster out

If you're removing them from the knuckle, just replace them. If you really do want to reuse them, just make sure they're firm, not loose like a limp noodle and the grease that comes out comes out gray, not brown or rusty, not greenish grey(water mixed).

Did you take yours with the chisel with the ball joints and knuckel in place

IIRC my 88 BII camber bushings were not adjustable. The hole was centered so no matter how much you turned it it would not change the camber. I had to get aftermarket ones. If they were adjustable...it certainly wasnt alot.

Yes, but I have a pinch bolt set up, so you can spread it a bit to relieve the squeeze and hit it up and out.

Use a lot of PB blaster and even some heat on the knuckle, not too much that you melt the ball joints boot.

I've been trying to put camber bushings in mine I'm about to give up...

The upper balljoint on a D28 has a tapered stud requiring you to break it free in the same manner you would the lower balljoint or a steering link.
If it's not too rusty, you may be able to pop it loose by just smacking the beam right next to it with a hammer, though if it's rusted pretty solid (or someone really cranked it down tight), you may have to pop the whole knuckle loose before you can adjust it.
