Hey guys I got a 89 5.0 HO with a c-6 soon to be aod and I was wanting to get a cam. My question is I wanted to get a cam that would pass smog and one that would have some what of a lumply idle but one I won't have to reflash my computer or anything. A buddie of mine suggested looking into the comp energy cams? I want the lumpy sounding idle :-) any suggestions?

I think that Ford's E-303 cam is the only that's been exempted. See some of the CompCams say that they are computer compatible, doesn't mean they've got thru the proper channels to be legal.

Cool thanks for ur input I think I read on other threds about that cam. That's a ford racing cam? Just courius how cridical is it to degree a cam I mean not how to do it just how important is it ?

it is real important i mean lots of people put them in and dont degree them but i would def. degree it because you can advance it to work in the RPM range you want and dial it in to exactly what you want and the cams are not always made perfect. just my two cents

E-303 :icon_thumby:
I had this cam in one of my mustangs and I loved it.The car had an agressive sound out the pipes and the car made great power and still got good fuel milage. This one has my vote.

My cousin put a new cam in once and it wouldnt even run until my other cousin put a degree wheel on it and put in a 4 degree advanced key for the timing chain crank gear. That doesnt happen every time but its a lot of work if it aint right the first time.

Right on guys thanks a lot for ur help I'm going to degree just cause that's how I like to do things it just seams right that way LOL and looks like the e303 is the cAm that's going in thanks again :-)
