i sincerely hope our california members and their families are safe from this tradgedy.i haven't seen makg post in awhile, anyone heard from him or know if all is ok?godspeed to the firefighters.

I think the fires are in Southern CA, and IIRC, MAKG is more central-north. But come to think of it, I have an aunt in LA, so I hope it doesn't get too bad.

I'm in PA but I already know two people (not ranger related) who've been
ordered to evacuate.

Hope our TRS folks (and everybody) stay safe.
Every time I'm ready to pack it in and leave PA for someplace else, some disaster happens that never happens here and I figure I might as well stay.

What about that Rolling Rock disaster?

Oh, that's right. They moved.

Yeah, I guess you're right.

Those fires are pretty common down there. With the huge influx of people in just the last 10-20 years it's no wonder people are getting into contact more with them. I left Oceanside in 1996 and earlier this year I was having trouble finding my house on Google Earth. Turns out, my subdivision which was on the outskirts of Oceanside is now smack in the middle of the city with a bunch of plazas around it, a new 6-lane going by it and ten miles of new subdivisions in every damn direction.

You'll see these getting worse but the fires aren't worse, people just live where they didn't use to.

That said, nobody likes seeing other people's homes get destroyed and I also have family in Oceanside in the form of in-laws.

im okay so far

well the good news is im okay the family and the truck is okay. im right smack dab in the middle of the witchcreek fire and the harriss fire. ashes everywhere they just gave me a voluntary evac. but i cant get anywhere anyways. all the freeways going north to LA are closed and theres anoother fire at the border so i cant go to mexico. i will post some pics of the ashy truck... thanks for your concern.

so i was sent home from work due to air quality and decided to take a nap. i got a phone call from one of my friends who live 50 miles away from SD sayin he heard on the news that my area had to be evacuated. i told him that all was good... not 2 minutes later my neighbor knocks on the door saying he got a reverse 911 call sayin we had a mando evac. it kinda surprised me cuz the fires are a couple miles away but it looks like the fire are going to hit the beach. its still 0% contained i dont even have renters insurance. i guess its time to start prayin. a few of my friends are almost sure they lost there homes and its only gonna get worse.
