Some say it's a victory in affordability and common sense...

Others say it's a complete disaster... and we'll likely die

The current Administration axed the former Administrations CAFE standards. As well as the EV mandates that were necessary to conform to those standards.

I like the idea... not that I would consider buying a brand new gas guzzler. But if this could make buying a new truck cheaper... it's a good thing and only makes me more likely to buy one.

There were also references made to some of the teeny tiny vehicles sold in many other parts of the world perhaps having some influence on new offerings at a great price point.

There is much buzz... Google for many articles.

If anything manufacturers aren't going to go backwards, they'll likely just quit doing the auto stop garbage and maybe work on reliability instead of hunting for that 0.00001 mpg increase while increasing weight by 10% for "safety"...

Prices won't come down. Long term you will pay more in fuel costs. If your presidential tariffs went away the prices would probably come down due to lower material cost.

They said that it adds up to 109 billion dollars in savings for consumers.

Tariffs are a different story. Nobody minded Tariffs when the US was paying them... kinda funny the world's hair is on fire when they have to pay.

Ummm... Its not me or any other country paying the tariffs. Its your American companies that pay the tariffs, and that means the costs are passed onto you, the american people. The money made from tariffs go to the US government. So its a tax in disguise.

If my country ( Canada ), enacts tariffs in response or retaliation, it means that me ( Canadian people ) pay the tariffs in higher costs passed on by the Canadian companies importing into Canada.
