hello all ,
well i went to the smog shop today and my truck failed due to : the 2 fails i recieved was EGR (Functional) and Fuel cap integrity test
Now I understand were the EGR is located, but I really need to either clean it out , find out why there is no vaccum, im just not sure were to start besides cleaning it and after cleaning it i have no way to test it out to see if that was the problem
The shop stated i need a Diag performed on monday at 8 am , its up to me they said ... 1.5 hours of labor just to find out and it will cost me $120 ..... THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH BEFORE 1/31/2011.... or my Reg is going to be very very costly... I did look in the tech section and found that to check it i can suck on vaccum line ... but if its clogged .... i am going to need to go to the JY and get some broken speedomoter cable lol.. i did do a search and found the thread started by Blueovalboy89 helped a little but im new to this stuff .....
now that i have said all this who wants to place input?
just for refrence , here are my numbers for my 1989 ranger :
@ 836 RPM : %CO2= 10.5/ %O2=6.1 | HC(RPM); MAX=120/AVE=30/MEAS=18 | CO(%); MAX=1.00/ AVE= 0.10/ MEAS=0.00 RESULT PASS
@2552 RPM : %CO2= 11.9/ %O2=4.3 | HC(RPM); MAX=180/AVE=20/MEAS=40 | CO(%); MAX=1.00/ AVE= 0.10/ MEAS=0.00 RESULT PASS
and thanks in advance for any and all members that help me out with this !!!
