I have a 1984 C5 recently rebuilt. It has been working fine but now I am noticing that if you have it in any forward gear on a hill (slight or steep) it will not roll back any, it acts like you are on a brake that is in the trans. It will rock back in forth but will not roll. Also if you are in any forward movement and shift to reverse it locks up the rear wheels or throws you forward if in 4 wheel drive, give it a little gas then let off it moves a little like normal then rocks back in forth. It seems that the engine doesn't rev freely in nutral or park. Give it wide open throttle then let off and it very quickly returns to idle. Do you know of anything that can cause these symptoms? I understand that you shouldnt shift in any oppisite gear with out a complete but it should roll forward on a steep hill if in reversr or vice versa.
