Hello to all. i have a 97 2wd that i am converting to 4wd, the engine runs great but the tranny is shot, it only pulls in 1st and rev., i have a 83 4wd c5 with a bw1354 manaul shift tcase, what flywheel do i need to use to swap to the 4.0l? the 2.8 or the 4.0l, i was reading the tech. article, but it is confusing, any help would be greatly appriciated?

You need the 2.8 flywheel along with the puck spacer from the 4.0 to get proper spacing for the C5 tranny - remember to keep the sheet metal shield in place between the block and the bellhousing.

I'm doing the same swap into my '84 BII, and am wondering how I get to the converter bolts with the 4.0 The flex plate access cover is hidden behind the oil pan, so what's the trick to getting to the bolts? The engine's installed but the tranny's out of the truck for a rebuild.

tq bolts

i could get to mine thru the starter hole

Awesome, that's what I was thinking, thanks for confirming it.
