Found this part in my transmission pan when I removed the pan to replace gasket and filter. Any idea where it goes?? I don't see a location for it or it showing in any C5 diagrams.

Nothing to worry about. I've read on TRS; This piece is used by the factory as a plug for [I believe] the dipstick tube. It gets pushed into the pan on the manufacturing line when the tube is inserted.

Agreed. The 4R70W in my '02 F-150 had one too.

Wow. This implies that the trans pan on your vehicle has never been removed since the date of assembly.

Or someone threw it back in because they didn't know what it was.
