C4 rebuild

Gonna be rebuilding my C4 next month and was wondering if i should upgrade any of the internals?, its gonna be behind a carbed 302 and its gonna be my offroad toy. trying to make a shopping list and get it all in one shot, any ideas or links with be helpful.

seabee.. go on youtube not only will it show you how to rebuild it ..it will also show you how to check it after you rebuild it..i rebuild my c4 by using youtube. i just put all the video's that i need to use in my favorites on the computer.hey its very simple man even a caveman can do it. If it isn't going to be tons of power you won't need to do too much. You definitely want to at least get upgraded frictions. Red alto's are overkill unless you are racing it. Trans go makes a good shift kit for them. An upgraded servo and cover never hurts either. I have seen them take a good beating but can be prone to crack near the pump and valvebody, so if money allows a deep ribbed pan is a good investment. Get a good front band, and if any question replace the low/reverse one ( it will be a few bucks). For something pretty mild you won't need much more. The big thing is, do you have a 24 or 26 spline input? If 24 it is a good idea to either look for a different model or buy the 26 spline forward drum, input, pump and #3 washer. Stregnth is a issue with the smaller one but the real problem can be finding a correct stall converter.
