okay so, 94 ranger 4x4 getting a 5.0 and c4 trans, i havent gotten the adaptor yet to hook the trans up to the transfer case yet, turns out its a 3 month wait atleast:annoyed: from Advanced Adaptors for the 11.5 inch adaptor. So now i figuring ill have to go with a shorter lenght and that brings up having to move the crossmember. Im looking for ideas on what ppl have done with their crossmembers for the swap and pics of coarse. I dont have the tools on hand to trial and error fab one up, so i need a good idea of what i need before i have someone make it.

i would use and aod and a full size t case.:dunno:

I used one of these:

I had already installed it on my truck, but it sits inside the frame rails. I removed the two bolts, and the crossmember would center the engine/trans for me, and could be slid for/aft easily to match the trans mount position. The new holes for my T5 were approx 1.5" forward of the stock location. Yours will obviously vary.

I used the stock crossmember.

The C4/5 required it to be moved ahead, and my frame was about 1/4" narrower there so I torched off the end of it a little and oblonged the holes. It used factory holes on the PS of the frame and I had to drill a new hole in the DS of the crossmember because it didn't quite line up because of the difference in width.

Mine is the kind that sits on the bottom web of the DS frame rail and hooks up and over (I suppose for the factory exhaust) and comes down with two bolts in the center of the PS frame rail. Originally the truck had an A4LD.
