C4 behind a 2.3

I have some questons about the 2.3. Is there any variation in the flywheel/flexplate to crankshaft mounting holes and pilot hole size? I am planning on running a C4 using a flex plate and torque converter from a 1980 mustang 2.3 but Most of the engines I have as options are 86 and later ranger 2.3s. I wanna make sure I buy the rght stuff the first ti,e if possible.
