i have a suzuki samurai with a 4.0ford v6 and c4. the c4 was rebuilt about 3 years ago, and second gear never engaged quite right, but it was strickly a trail rig, and really dosn't see second gear much, or third gear for that matter(only when i am stuck and spinning the tires does it). anyway, second gear just recently went out completely, and when i would shift gears, sometimes it wouldn't shift from park to drive and back, felt like something was in the trany holding up the shifter. so of course i tore it all apart, and found that the second gear band(or whatever it is called) must have came loose, and the little pieces on either end of the band fell down and where getting in the way of shifting. so i put it all back together.

so that is the background, now my question is, how do i adjust the band, so it shifts correctly. how tight does it need to be. sorry if this sounds confusing, but if anyone can help me i would greatly appreate it.

iirc the bolt is tightened to 10 inch pounds and then you are supposed to replace the jam nut
