C3 to M50D

First off, please excuse the newbie Q's. I'm gonna be swapping trannys and I'm going to be learning the whole way through.

I'll be swaping a M50D in a few weeks to replace my slow C3. I've been reading up on the tech articles to get acquainted with everything but nothing directly addresses the C3 tranny (at least, that I have found). I'm sure most of the process is identical to swaping from an A4LD, but will there be any little surprises? I guess my biggest question is about the crossmember. Will any manual crossmember fit my '84 and bolt up to the M50D?

And one more question, will the 4.0 clutch and it's accessories fit and work with my 2.8?

The crossmemeber used is not nearly as important as where it is placed. Needs to be in the rear set of holes.

Yes, 4.0 flywheel, clutch, etc will bolt to the 2.8, but you need the 4.0 manual block plate and starter.

Might have some driveshaft issues too. I don't know about the C3.
