C3 Replacement

Hey everyone,

Is there a good tranny I can put in to replace my C3 that won't be a nightmare. Basically one that will just bolt in that isn't a C3, an AOD maybe? I don't know, I read that the C3's were boat anchors and mine seems to be acting up a little. Any tips other than a good fluid and filter change that has been known to help them out at all? My truck is a 1984 std cab 2.8 2WD with a C3 tranny. Any suggestions are welcome. I saved my Ranger from certain death, she's a beater now, but I'll bring her back to life, hopefully. Thanks

I can understand where you are coming from on the reliabilty of the C-3. I also am having problems with a 83 C3 V6 2wd and was told that C3 is the only thing that would bolt on without modifications to my engine. (yours might be different?) Search under my "log in" in transimmion section during the summer and see my previous messages before we had this one rebuilt. I also just posted a C-3 question that you might be able to help me with. Any help is appreciated. And Good Luck. Payitforward
