well i was working on the truck the other day replacing the drivers side axle on my 88 stx with the stupid d28 and manual hubs. and noticed that the c clip and washers and bearing on the end of the axle were missing. well i had a set of washers and bearing and c clip so i replaced them. i decided to check the other side and guess what? no washers or bearing or c clip.so i dug around and found another set of washers and bearing but no c clip. so does anyone know where i can get the c clip at?

You could probably take the good one off and into NAPA and see if they have one.. Otherwise I would say a junkyard.

Junk yard is ur best bet, i tried getting one from napa they couldn't find it and ford says u have to buy the whole hub assembly for like 90 bucks to get it or it was 50, it was a long time ago

yea i am making a run to the yard in the next few weeks hopfully to strip rangers and b2s of all the internals of the hubs.

well i SHOULD have about 8 or 10 others but i can not find them and i checke the local yards and the only yard that had a rbv with a d28 wanted $15 for this stupid little clip. i was looking at the parts store today and wondering if i could use a snap ring. has anyone tried this?

i used some left over c-clips from an old set of u-joints. i had to bend them into a tighter radius and i had to stack 2 side by side to make up the thickness difference but it worked and i didnt have any problems with it till i could get the proper replacement (yes, its fixed now)

i had thought of this and didn't know if it would work . thanks for the tip kunar

I got one from the dealer... if you have a smart parts guy you can get just the clip. If I remember right I got 2 for $12
