i recieved my d35 c clip eliminator in the mail today and it has two springs in the package, what spring do i use the soft one or the stiff one?

They are the detroit springs off TRS offroad.

They are meant as internal springs.

Don't use internal springs on the c-clip eliminator.

i ordered it right off this website and it says that it is installed in pass slip yolk. did they send me the wrong thing? or is the directions a misprint?

No that is correct, but mjones is saying (I agree) is that the internal springs are less reliable. You can get a spring from an Echo lawnmower parts dealer that slips over the splines in the outer shaft and works great.

if we shouldnt use them then why the heck would they tell me to buy them, when you click on the c clip eliminator link in tech library it takes you right to these springs and thats what i should use, now im pissed that i wasted time and money on a product that is not recomended to be used.

You can still use an internal spring, but most people have found external springs to be more reliable. I ran an internal spring, but on my first wheeling trip I discovered it popped off the cap on the back side of the female end of the joint even though I tacked it in place.

I would look at the page in the tech library you mentioned and determine which one you need since I was able to see the specific springs you have when I looked. Since you have them, it is worth trying them. If they fail, you can get the spring I mentioned for $3 instead.
