C-6 302 conversion 90 ranger ext can.

I've located a 302 v-8 out of a 83 f-150 mated to a c-6 tranny,the c-6 is longer in length than. C-4 tranny ,by 3 inches 20" I believe will this trans work in a 90 model ranger the truck is an extended cab,and would or should I put a body lift on it ?how much lift would it need for good clearance it's a 2wd
