Bye, bye TTB--bolt-on SAS

Please tell me that's not a crack I see in the top of the trackbar bracket (2nd pic from the top). Is that just the paint or mud? :-/

Just a shadow from the way the pic is taken, thats the end of the chunk thats bolts below the frame above where it's welded to the tab that mounts to the crossmember....I had to look at it twice too!

Heres the un-installed pics of my new James Duff SAS buckets! I'll post more pics when I get them installed.

how do you order the track bar bracket? i am really interested in it

Junkie,
Like Andrew said, I believe it must be the way the pic was taken. This is the second setup that was put together. I like this one much better than the first. Ties into the frame using the two lower bolts of the coil buckets and into the engine x-member using the motor mount as well as 2 other holes that were drilled. It's all 1/4" plate and weighs close to 15 lbs!

Andrew,
Hope you like the buckets, I know I do. Looks like some good welds on there. Put up some pics. when you get em ready to hit the road. You prolly gonna be leaving out here before too long huh? Have fun man, I'd love to do something like that one day.

Cushion,
Gonna hafta wait to order it. Mine is the prototype and it may very well get changed over time. That's why it's in the "stealthy" flat black paint. Hopefully I will get to do some wheeling soon and put it to the test but as of right now it ain't moving outta my garage. Maybe this weekend??????

I'll let everyone know when the stuff is getting close to release.

i assume you have to get the catalog to see this stuff. i don't think the website has been updated in years. i looked around their site and didn't see a "request a catalog" link or anything. anyone care to point me in the right direction?

Tony,
Actually Andrew PM'd me a while back asking about the buckets I had on my Ex. I done some checking with JD and they had planned a small run of the buckets so I threw Andrew's name in the hat. He got the very first set sold, his are so new they didn't even go to powdercoat. I believe the run is back at the shop now and should be for sale. Best to just call and talk to Bryan. He will let you know if they are ready.

Ok, cool deal :icon_thumby:

Yeah, I was like WTF am I seeing, being right in the notch there... it looks rather beefy and well built, it shouldn't be cracking like that (especially having barely drove the thing :icon_twisted: ).

So have you been able to get the explorer out on any trails yet or still just collecting dust in the garage

Actually I did do some wheeling this weekend. I'll throw up some pics when I get home can't do it from my phone. Had a blast and the Ex walked a lot of stuff I used to have trouble with.

Can't wait to get my hands on those SAS coil buckets :D

Ok so I finally got my friend to send me the pics he took the other day of the ride we were on. I've only got a couple of the Explorer but thought I'd put them up.

Good ride.

nice...i love the EB buggy looks fullsize until you see it head on lol

It's a beast fo sho. Hes' run XRRA in it and won a few rock crawling events. Every part on it is the best of the best. Love watching it work, pretty much point and shoot. He had 42" Iroks on it but got the 40" stickies and said he will never run normal tires again. Basically had to re-learn how to drive it with the new tires. Before he throttled everything, 6K RPMs was normal. Now he can crawl up stuff without problems.

104" wheelbase and only 72" tall at the top of the cage.

Never a problem with the kit. Rides and drives great! Wheeling again this weekend.

Still gonna be awhile before it's an actual "kit" but I did notice that Duff has some of this stuff on their website and are selling pieces of the kit. Only thing not 100% yet is the bolt-on trac bar mount and the shock hoops. Everything else can be purchased.
