after talking to a buddy about shift paddles on an automatic. looked into automatic transmissions that can be shifted like a manual for fords, ran into the 4r70. one thing led to another. now im researching 5.0 swaps again, but now im stuck on transfer cases...

i have a 1350 and 1354 for a doubler. and i see that there is an 4r70w adapter... for 500$

the bw4406 seems to be the case that everything installed behind this transmission.

i assume the bw4406 is a better case than the 1354?

when looking on google i have found nothing about it being used in a doubler setup.

suggestions?

paddle shifter?

why? are you road racing? in that case a awd case would be ideal.

and, a 5.3 6l80 combination would be on point. paddle shifting a 4 speed not as worth it as a 6 speed.

gearing and tire size can really be dialed in.

Funny that you menton a 6l80e as that's what he is running but behind a build 6.0. I don't want paddle shifters as much as I want the option to shift an auto like a manual.

In fact an option for just 1st and 2nd gears would be perfect as that's all you use offroad.

As for the doubler I don't wanna miss out on crawl ratio with whatever tire size I run which could be anything from 33s to 42s.
