Is it realy worth it? I ve found some decent deals but then again... Its craigslist

I've had great luck on the few I've gotten.. just look closely for dry rot and broken belts but not all problems will be seen easily.......

i got my 31's off clist for $100, you can usually find a pretty good deal. just inspect them real good before you make an offer

Hell yeah craigslist. I bought these tires (32's) on some Chevy bolt American Racing Outlaw II rims for $400. Then bought these rims for $150, put the tires on them and sold the Outlaws for $200.

only place i would go for mudding tires.....way too much to get into a brand new set.

Got almost new 15x8 mickey thompson classic IIs on Pro comp mud terrain 32/11.50/R15 with 1/2 tread for $200

Yeah as long as you know what to look for as far a trouble things then craigslist is great, I got my Mickey thompsons for 500 there, bought a CARR light bar and 4 6" KC daylighters for 75 bucks, Got a set of rims earlier this year for 20 bucks and they were practically brand new.

Ya I was too late on a set of 2006 fx4 rims on toyo tires. Forget kind if tire but guy wanted 250... Sucked.

Okay thanks guys and as far as wear percfentage would yoou guys by a set of titires with about 40 percent?

i find that they are normally overcompensating. like, a dude will be like, "oh, i'm a solid 8"......but it's really 7.5....... if they say 40, it's probably more like 25

Check the date code on the side. The DOT number will have 3 or 4 more numbers on 1 side, that's the date code.
3 digit date code means they were produced before 2000, and are not safe for on-road use.
4 digit date code is after 2000. First 2 indicate week of the year, and last 2 indicate the year. About 6 years old is the limit for tires that you intend to use for on-road use.
Example: 3506 would indicate week 35 of 2006.

Tire age is just as important as tread depth, when it comes to tires intended to be used on the public roads. Off road use only, age is less important
