i would get a slightly higher wattage amp if you want those things to be at full potential!

I just bought the same HU it should be here tomorrow.
I put the Pioneer 3 way 6x8's in all 4 corners. I love them.
Planning on a MB quart 8". Placed in a 8" sch 80 pipe with caps, (I'll post pics when done).
Sub mounted in between front buckets.
Still trying to decide on amp though. Suggestions anyone?

Not trying to jack the thread, just happy to see someone else with my Hu.

ive got those pioneer speakers 4 of them there great they sound great for as cheap as they are

you will need 4ohm subs if you plan on bridging each set of channels since you cant run it bridged at 2 ohms.

you could run each sub on a single channel but you would only be getting 75w rms a piece, if you got 4 ohm subs you would get 150w rms out of each set of bridged channels.

Ok I just got the Pioneer premier HU installed....
HOLY CRAP!!! what a difference. Understand I went from all factory, to the Pioneer 6x8's on factory Hu, to all Pioneer now. If you're like me and just need a great system on a budget then go with the HU. It's to the point, I'm about to order a sub and amp so that I don't blow my 6x8's (seriously). I bet you won't be disappointed.

I'd say don't go elsewhere, I'm VERY pleased.

alot of HU's advertise about 20w x 4 rms.... is this HU just conservative? or just not as high quality you think?

i admit it is a very attractive deal (i checked amazon..), comes with harness, trim, ipod cable... and it would be a good upgrade from my old sony xplod HU probably.

if you have a friend that works at best buy, you can get that amp for around $100. but 150wx2 isnt going to move those subs very well. and youll be putting your amp at risk of failure bridging that amp for a 2ohm load. and those subs need quite a bit of airspace, which to me negates the whole space saving slim design. a nice slim sub would be the memphis s-class.
