Buying a Ford Bronco 2

The door sticker will specify an axle code, you can look it up in the tech archives on here. That's assuming the axle has never been changed. Another way to verify is to check for a tag on the axle itself and interpret it (that's mentioned in the axle code information in the tech archives too). If all else fails, you'll have to pull the diff cover, but chances are it's the original axle code on the sticker.

Thank you! definitely will take a look. I can't wait if this week I'll be getting it or if next week I'll be getting it, but I will take lots of pictures for more ideas in the future. Is upgrading the gears a expensive job and is it recommended?

It isn't cheap to have gears changed. 3.73's are nice because they were fairly common stock so you can just change axles. Explorer's and newer 4.0 Rangers have good axles to swap in because they are also stronger. The rear will need welding, front is drop in aside from an alignment, its all in the tech library.

Also what's a good size on the lift? I don't want it too lifted, but good enough so it looks snug. Would a 2" or 3" be good? Another thing, how much would it cost to get the gears (3.73) added to the B2?

James Duff has a great 3" suspension lift that would allow easy fitting of 31x10.50 tires. A 4.56:1 axle ratio is best for these tires, though 4.56 was never offered from the factory so it's not real likely you'll find them at a wrecker... Expect to pay about $200-250 for the gearset, another $50-150 for a gear setup (installation) kit, and $200-300 for labor per axle to change gears.

×2 on the axles from a later 4.0L truck being stronger, you'll want these for sure if you plan to use it much off road.

So what vehicles should I use for donor axles?

Actual price?

So what is a fair price for this vehicle? Especially his wife has been driving it ever since he posted it. Shouldn't that give a little depreciation value. Also I found that most of the Ranger/Broncos that are Manuel are cheaper besides one that I found which had lower miles and looked very good. He had that Ranger posted for $3,500.
