actually i think it was to short i have pretty good flex running d44 and 9 inch with extended radius arms i think it dooped out to far and bound up and took it apart but i dont 100 percent know i got a new t case in and im in the process of deciding if it was to long or to short and which way i have to go longer or shorter..

I will wait to make my final call but that looks VERY much like a situation that stemmed from a driveshaft that was to long that repeatedly slammed into the case until it failed.

ive been running the same d shaft and t case for over a year and i just changed my radius arms and pushed my front 1 inch forward from where it was and left the drive shaft so im more leaning toward it was to short and not enough splines in the t case when it drooped that it put to much bind on the Not so great front out put on my 1350 tcase

Try to find a 1354 or a 1350 from an STX HighRider. Both were fixed front output, and have the slip spline in the drive shaft. This would probably eliminate your issue. I had the same thing happen with my 1350 slip-yoke output.

Changing your front radius arms could of allowed for more travel, hence the ability for the shaft to hit the t-case. If it did fall out one would think it would fall down, slap around and hit the undercarriage of your truck. Maybe cracking the trans, bellhousing, t-case etc from impact. That kind of failure is not "normal" with the drive shaft falling out. The only way that the drive shaft falling out would cause that is if it spun around and hit the top of the t-case after if fell out. Interesting predicament.

No good deed goes unpunished. sorry to see that hopefully you find the cause.

What is that grooving on the inside of the housing from in the 2nd picture?

I still believe it could have extended to the point of not falling out but but very close to and managed to bind itself up upon re-compression of the shaft.

+1, that makes more sence. With my front shaft and SAS upon up travel the shaft doesnt shorten much, but when it drops it extends enough to probly cause that problem.

im not 100 percent sure :dunno:but i think it could be from when shit came apart:icon_rofl: it sounded like a grenade going off when it broke and it had enough force behind it to actually stall my truck.

ive never had this happen and ive been wheeling with a 1350 for almost 2 years going on 3 it had something to do with me changing my radius arms and not lengthening my drive shaft the inch that i push my front forward.

If you still have the front crossmember on there, the driveshaft might have fouled on it and caused a side-load on the front of the t/case.

upon further inspection i have found that my problem stemmed from a bent front drive shaft... as for it being to long or to short i flexed my truck out and checked everything again today and it seems to be ok so im pretty sure my problem was caused by the bent drive shaft...
