i want to get one just to use it to diag sounds when i am flexing lol. i got a nasty sound from my rear end when i flex a lot. it screams for its life.

Mine makes a nasty sound when it flexes, it's the driveshaft rubbing against the side of the gas tank skid plate.

problem solved! lol. hey jim do you check your pm's? i sent you one a couple days ago..... and how hard does the driveshaft rub? possible way to trim it back a bit? does it hit the plate on the bottom of the tank or the strap on the side?

I was able to trim mine..... It rubbed the plate, so I trimmed it. Then it flexed further and rubbed the support, so I cut it and made a new one the hugs the tank closer. No more Chewbacca noises now

yeah thats about what it sounded like. next time i have it up on the lift at work i will have to get in there and fix it.

Here is what the drive shaft looked like from hitting the gas tank skid, it wasnt bent at all just dented up, no vibration at 70 mph on the freeway. But I figured I should reinforce it anyway.

I trimmed back the the skid and reworked the support to clear the shaft. The bottom weld looks terrible in this picture for some reason, but its and nice bead up close.lol

we are slow at work today. so i will get it on the lift today and see if i can get anything done today for it. pics def help bc i didnt know exact where it was hitting. thanks again seth. kind of surprised it rubs towards the front of the tank more than the rear.

The diff is offset to the pass side, but the tcase output is centered, so the front is closer.
