Here is the start of my new bumper. Its only tac welded together pretty much, I primered it so it wouldnt get a lot of rust because I can only work on it on the weekends. I'm going to be adding some different angles to it and some tow loops then paint it or get it powder coated black

That'll look pretty sweet, I can't wait to start building my bumper with my Dad. I wanna make a pre-runner style one though.

EDIT: I like your rims too man, I really wanna try to find a set to put on my 87 Ranger later.

This is it so far, the welds are all smooth and I cut an angle in the side because it was looking a bit too boring. I have some more angles coming, lights, and tow hooks :icon_welder: . I'm thinking about just filling in the pits and sanding it smooth with that brushed look and laying a coat of clear sealer over it . What do you guys think? I would have a nicer pattern too it though if I was to do that.

Thanks. Really? You like those? I hate em. I cant wait to get a set of rock crawlers.

Yea I see them on quite a few Broncos and Explorers too. I actually really like the look and I might get a set in the summer time.

darn to bad your on the other side of the country my buddy does powder coating. i get everthing done that i can for cost. 10$ for him to do my light bar in the bed cant beat that.

I have a place that does powdercoating, I own a business, so I get it all done at cost as well, I just dont know when it's going to be complete so I dont want to do anything permanent

ok my bumper is officially toast, I got stuck in a mud hole and it took an f350 to pull me out. the only place accessable to tie off was my bumper so we wrapped a tow strap around it to pull me out, well, heres the aftermath. I only built it out of 3/16, my bad.

I've got a new idea for one anyways, coming soon.

Wow, that sucks man. always need recovery points front and rear before even messing around in a muddy field because you never know. I bet the second one will turn out even better though.

you couls possibly remove it straiten it out and then add some support

looks like if u started at the front pushed it up against a tree it would push the front back and the all u'd need to do is straited the top

that sure was a good looking bumper. nice fab work, sorry to hear it's toast already. your next one will probably turn out better now that the little gears in your head are turning. keep the updates commin :)
