I'm looking to put an 01-03 edge bumper on my 98. the local body shop quoted me $272.16 to color match to my truck. Is that a reasonable deal? What is the usual going price to have a bumper painted.

i think that's pretty dang expensive!!! especially because considering your truck is already a stock color, it's not like they have to custom mix the paint... call around to a few other places about a quote to color match a stock paint color on a bumper.

if you have an air compressor, you can by a gun for about $20-30, the paint for about $60, and about $25 on other supplies.... you will have enough paint to practice on a piece of scrap and learn how to do it yourself, and save yourself money now and in the future..... its fun to learn how to do it if you have that option! maybe make yourself a few bucks down the road doing it for a friend! but yeah, $273 does sound a little high.
