Bump steer solution?

Hows it going, i have 98 2wd ranger (A-Arm). Its lifted with a 3 inch spindle and 2.5 inch coil. The bump steer is pretty bad and im looking for a way to return steering geometry to stock (or atleast better) I am aware removing the lift would return it to stock geometry, but i do love how it sits amd would lioe to keep it that way if possible. i would appreciate any help, struggling to find answers. Oops. Sorry. after responding, I saw that you have A-arms instead of twin I-beam. I am of no help to you in this matter.

Appreciate the response, however my truck has the A-Arm front end. Finding plenty of info on i beam rangers but not the a arm rangers. Will double check the how to section for some info, thanks -Cooper

Did the spindle lift change the location of the tie rod end mount on the steering knuckle? I would think that the new spindle would just be located lower on the upright, essentially lifting the truck while leaving the suspension geometry the same.

You're correct, the spindle lift didnt change the geometry. The problem is it also has 2.5" lift coils. I could remove them and replace with stock coils to fix, but i was just wondering if there is any solution for people with both a spindle and coil lift because its a pretty common thing. I can't imagine everyone running this kind of setup just deals with the bump steer im experiencing.

Are you using stock-length control arms?

Im assuming you're talking about uppers? Yes both upper and lower are OEM

How are your camber/caster angles?

Im not sure on caster but i know camber is pretty bad. Guesstimating close to 2 degrees negative camber. Upper ball joints are also pretty maxed out. Assuming they have very little lateral strength at this point.

You may need longer upper arms to bring the camber and caster back into spec before the issue can be resolved.

Hey all. Thanks for your help. I have decided however to replace my coils with stock height so its only sitting on a spindle. Id rather have a truck that handles well. That brings me to one last question though. I now need to lower the rear end to match the 2.5 inches im losing up front. The previous owner flipped the shackles so I'm wondering what the best solution is. Smaller lift shackles or 2 inch blocks and stock shackles? Thanks for any help again, it's all been appreciated. -Cooper
