hello all,

i'm gonna start building my steering soon. going with the stonecrusher idea.

gonna use 1.5 .250 wall dom. and thinking of hiems. tho TRE's is an option as well.

either way i go, i was thinking of running a 7/8 shank, should fit nicely in the 1.5 dom. is this needed? if i go hiem's i'll go 3/4 on the mounting bolt.

thoughts on this? will there be any issue of binding with the tre's?

I bought all my steering stuff from Ballistic Fab. I got the heims, tubing and safety washers. I used 5/8 bolts to attatch it to the knuckles. I have a little over 120 in the whole thing.

I went with 1.5 .25 wall DOM with 7/8" shank 3/4 bore heims for mine. Also have PSC 1.5" hydro assist.

Working great thus far, bashed it against some shit hard and nothing has tweaked yet.

calling dan from ruffstuff tomorrow. ballastic is local, but ruffstuff's prices can't be beat, and i've heard nothing but good things from TRS vendor ruffstuff!!!!!

x2 on ruffstuff heims

called and talked to dan's partner a bit today. great customer service. and now i got two sets of left and right hand 3/4 heims on the way, with all the fixings too! and for under 100 bucks!

So is this 1.5 ID and the .250 wall? Im finding 2.0 OD and 1.5 ID with a .250wall on ballistic fab for my tubbing, is this what everybody is using?

I see Ruffstuff has there heims and stuff on sale so I figured while on sale, I want to order them but what to be sure on what I need such as a right and left had set of heims. This is going to be used on my D30.

from what i have read, the 1.5 OD is usual. that is what i bought for.

might want to think of it this way, find your heims you want to run, then get the appropriate tubing for the heims and adapters, i'd think 2in OD is to much. thats what i'm using on my radius arms!

I was just making sure if it was 1.5 OD or ID yor were running. Got a link to which heims you bought? I figure if I start collecting my steering parts now, should be good by next spring when I go to make it.

I wanna see pics when get to working on it.

no problem. keep an eye out for my build thread (in my sig) thats where it'll be.

Dan and RuffStuff are good people. customer service was exactly what it should be. i can't wait to get to welding!

got the old stock steering torn off. holes reamed to 5/8 for the heims. all i need now is my tubing and heims to come in!
