I have a M50D 5 speed with a 2.3L bell so I'm assuming it's pre 92. I need to replace the slave cylinder but I dont know the year of the trans and there seems to be a whole bunch of different slaves depending on year and application. How do i identify what year and application of trans I'm working with. My slave says U807RR002a on it. RB

There really aren't that many variations on the M5OD slave, and the year of the trans doesn't matter nearly as much as the year of the line you want to plug into it. The fitting size changed in 93 (I think) so the slave will bolt into any trans, but needs the correct style line to hook up.

Good to know! The trans is in a 99 Ranger that was an auto, so I'm looking to find a pedal assembly out of a 95-11. That being said if I order a 95 or newer slave for say a 3 or 4L it will bolt up to my pre92 trans no problem?

The slave will bolt in, just make sure it matches the hydraulic line.

I'm hoping to find a clutch braket with a master cylinder and line at the salvage yard and then I'll just order a slave for that year truck. RB

I've got the pedal braket in the truck and the master, line, and slave are ordered. I removed the auto shifter from the column including a sensor that has 3 wires attached to it that i'm assuming tells the computer what gear the shifter is in? Just wondering if I need to do anything with those 3 wires, my only concern is that it wont start because of a neutral safty switch, wich i need to address anyway. What do i need to do to get around the neutral safty switch? RB
