Building a rally car. Opinions wanted.

You don't need a professional. You make sure the window is spotless before applying and follow the directions. Use a razor blade to clean any cling-ons and then a glass cleaner. If you find a piece of grit then pull it off and re-clean and re-apply.

Well Richard if you think I can manage it maybe I will give it a shot when the time comes. I've just only done a mediocre job when tinting but perhaps it's an opportunity to give it another go.

They recommend that, or its a set rule?

I would think you could knock quite a few pounds off by switching the sides to lexan (additionally lowering your CG).

A race vehicle is a great opportunity to practice, it's not a show truck [car in your case]. As long as it is 100 in the looks department, and that's easy.....50 mph @ 50 yards = 100

I was thinking that, the name of the game is weight reduction.

Production class is stock windows with a recommendation for film. Lexan is for open class. I might give It a shot down the road, it's just a little pricey to get up here.

Very true. It's a chance to learn some new things:icon_idea:

We'll see how it all goes, trying to keep the costs down for now. But if it turns out good and the rally car fund looks healthy, maybe I'll get creative:icon_welder:

Wrenches will be turning tomorrow crew :D

More stuffs going tonight.

First and foremost we cleaned the bench off again and moved all the engine parts over to it.

Pulled the rear hatch off. going to make the load floor flat for the rear bulkhead. Got a line on a cheap fuel cell. Looking into proper and safe install procedures.

I think these rim hubs may be a little (very) borked.

Tiny little front brakes.

I think my 4.3 S10 rad may be a little big.

23" with tanks is the ticket, even though this picture doesn't show it right.

Found this guy under the back seat. 'Rally Sport' Toyota Celica Supra

The diff has this funky extension thing going on off the pinion, not something I've ever seen before :icon_confused:
