I am planning to build a mustang II front suspensin for my Ranger. I am wanting to cut the frame rails in front of the firewall and replacing it with two straight pieces of 2x3 or 2x4 tubing. What thickness wall should i use? The reason for replacing the factory frame rails is because the factory ones are not straight. The new ones should allow me to fab the mounts for the upper control arms and the crossmember for the motor mounts, lower control arms and the rack and pinion. I am going to order the upper control arms from speedway and fab my own lower ones with the screw in type ball joint sleeves. Do you guys have any advice for doing this and how to keep everything level and straight.
