My neighbor has a late model buick and I believe the battery needs changing in his clicker. Can you just change the battery or do you need to go through some kind of re-programming procedure?

I recently changed the battery in the clicker for my '96 Dodge, that's all I did & it works fine.

As there were so many responses to my question I thought I should post what happened after I changed the battery in the clicker. It worked perfectly.

The clickers have an ID code burned into them. The program procedure pairs the clicker to the car by telling it "this code is good". It doesn't pair the car to the clicker.
