srry i didnt no if i should put this under non rbv or the audio and video so here it is. my question is thati have a goal to have the best system on flats on a low budget. as of now i have a sony cdx m30 head unit with the sub pre amp outputs and i have it amplified by one of these http://www.allaudioexpo.com/nav/details.asp?itemid=2606&catid=103 now it sounds good on two jL 7.5s and two cheapo 6.5s but id like it to be louder and hit harder. my solution was to add one of these http://www.allaudioexpo.com/i/pyle_plmrw8_8_400_watt_high_power_m.html or maybe a 10" version of this sub but either way i need more power so should i run one of these http://www.allaudioexpo.com/i/pyle_plmra200_2_channel_400w_waterproof.html off of the sub preamp outputs to the sub and leave everything else the same (except the 6.5s which im changing regardless most likely to thesehttp://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_13976_Sony+XS-MP1620B+-Black-.html ) or should i buy a 960 watt peak power 400w rms @ 4ohms power acoustic 4 ch car amp for 40$ and use my 400w 4 ch for the sub. and if i did the later of the two would the sony 6.5s hold up to that much power

lets just say, you get what you pay for when you go the cheap route. those amps arent CEA compliant, so youll be lucky if you even get half the rated output. would you consider running another amp? you could bridge that 4 channel for your fronts and then get a quality 1 or 2 channel to drive your subs. in your price range, i would consider used gear. ebay can be your best friend. i picked up a alpine mrp-m500 for $58 shipped. i tested it out and it works perfectly.

thanks pistons:icon_thumby:
i am goin to be running two amps but the only problem is i have 4 speakers and the sub unles i run two subs:taunt: so im going to take a look at the guys amp tomoro and if all is well i gues ill use the 960w to power the 4 speakers and the 400w bridged to power the sub(s).
now a couple more questions
1 can i bridge the 4 channel down to one to put out 400wx1 ch or just 200x2
and will this be enough to power the sub
2 if i can only bridge it down to two can i run a sub off of each bridged chanel (2 subs) with only one pre amp hookup
and 3 will those sony speakers hold up to the abuse:icon_hornsup:

thanks

you can only bridge the 4 channel to 2 channels and im sure its only 4ohm stable when its bridged. you COULD power 1 sub off of each of the rear channels, but i doubt youll be impressed with the output. from my experience when your not happy with the output you try to compensate. either buy turning up the gains(they should be set correctly using the dmm method and left alone) or by using your LOUD settings on your deck. if you do any of the 2 your amp will start to 'clip'. pretty much youll start to send a dirty signal to your speakers and you can potentially blow them.

as far as those sonys, i wouldnt bridge the 4 channel on those. look for something with a little higher rms. i tend to stick with alpine or pioneer when im looking at coaxial speakers. good luck.

thanks again
now i may have not made what i was trying to say clear
i would use the 960 watt un bridged to the sonys and to the jls i already have(one channel per speaker) in this circumstance would the sonys hold up or no and with the 400w bridged would i get good results with only one 8 or 10 in sub
thanks again

yes those sonys will work fine then. i have a single 8" sub bridged off the rear of my 4 channel. its getting 150 watts rms at 12.5v. you cant really hear it outside of the truck, but i didnt buy it so someone can hear me a block away. i think the output is quite nice. what jl subs/speakers do you have? i would bridge the rear channels and get a 10w1 in its recomended ported box.

on the jls idk but i do know theyre 7.5s and will handle 150w max and i think 75 rms and what did u mean by this "i would bridge the rear channels and get a 10w1 in its recomended ported box."
get a 10 inch sub and run it off the 400w amp bridged

i meant if you were going to run your whole system on that 4 channel id run the fronts off channels 1/2 and bridge channels 3/4 to run a 10w1. then id stuff the 10w1 in the biggest recomended ported enclosure i could fit. but if you are going to get the 400w amp, then forget it.

i didnt see any 7.5" subs on jls site

they might be the 7.7s and i already have the 4 ch 400w amp so i figured y not use it and i got what you ment by putting it in a ported box but i dont know what this is 10w1 sorry
thanks

oooo thanks do you know where i can get those and how much they are?

Dude, that Pyle sub is one of those things, like Pistons23 said, you get what you pay for. What is your budget? You really don't need rear speakers in a truck, or even in a proper setup no matter what type of vehicle you drive. But JL makes good speakers, why not use them for your mids/highs? Are they coaxials or components or what? You could save some money and get more out of your system, you just have to give us some more details.

Oh, yeah. I couldn't get any of your links to work, but by looking at that website, you may want to steer clear of any of that stuff if you want quality. There is a reason that their subwoofers cost like 20 bucks. No offense, but it really comes down to what you want. You can buy their "1000 watt" woofers and "1000 watt" amplifiers and spend less than a hundred bucks, but I guarantee you that if you spent that same hundred bucks on quality gear, you'd be much happier in the long run. Just something to keep in mind. :icon_cheers:

yea i figured theyd be garbage but i liked them cause they were water proof but i took your advice and got some used sony twelves in a band pass box dirt cheap. now ive just got to figure out what to power them with because that 960 watt amp was blown so i got my money back for it.
