Hear me out on this one, right now amazon is having a deal on the infamous pipe kinker style of benders. Ive always heard people complain about the HF kinker, saying it messed up their tubing, but what if you used PIPE instead of tubing. Yup steel piping, I know it exists because I used to work with it in the navy, and there is some pretty stout stuff out there! The reason I want to do this cheap is that I would only use this bender to make rock sliders and bumpers for 1, maybe 2 vehicles. If anyone has done this before what size? I am looking around the area of 1.5 inch steel pipe. I could have all of the pipe I need, and my kinker for less than 100 bucks. It sounds too good to be true.

I was thinking about filling the pipe with sand and seeing how that works out.

A little heat in just the right places and mine works just fine , you'll have to experiment with it but it can be done , sand in the pipe also helps , just have to cap both ends of the pipe .

I also heard that 1 5/8s tubing is basically the same thing as 1.25 piping. I am going to try my luck and order one. If it works I'll pass the knowledge
