Hi everyone,

I just picked up a 2005 fx4 for a good deal, most of it is in good shape but the interior is rough. I found a nice 60/40 seat from a 2003 reg cab for next to nothing, so I thought I would start with the seats. I spent some to searching but could not find a clear answer on if the swap will be easy.

If anyone has any insight I would really appreciate any help.

thanks

I'm pretty sure those will bolt right in...

No saving the FX4 buckets and console?

That would be great, the only thing in good shape is the passenger seat, the console is in bad shape and the driver seat needs rebuilt from the foam up. $50 for a new seat that only a few miles from my house, I could not pass it up. I will save the buckets for later, and find a replacement console.

A lot of small projects and this looks like an easy start.

Thanks for the help

I installed 2004 extended cab 60/40 seats in my 2001 standard cab and it took me 2 complete days of modifying the tracks. The extended cab tracks were much too long for my standard cab. Also, the seat belt bolts to hold the belt latches to the seats weren't the same diameter.

Good luck.

I've swapped seats around in a few super cabs... but I don't remember having to modify much of anything.

I think the seats were all from super cab trucks though.

It may not be as easy as I thought, I don’t really want to get into heavy modifications.
I guess I will check out the standard cab and measure the best I can before I start.

Measure the length of the tracks from front to rear and you should see what I mean.

Ok, I was hoping they would match up, but that seems like it won’t happen. I may have to rethink my plan.

I think the regular cab seats will bolt in, but will have a reduced range of adjustment due to the shorter tracks. iirc, the mounting holes are in the same locations.

I could live with that, I am only 6' tall and the one driving it, my son is shorter and is just starting to drive and thinks it is for him.....he can drive our civic, ha ha
