On my 98 Ranger XLT the stock bluish tint is starting to bubble up and peel on the driver side window. I don't really want the window re-tinted. Anybody know how to remove the tint without scratching the glass to kingdom come? I've heard plastic razor blades work great, but I'm a little aprehensive about using them. Would some sort of solvent and a plastic blade work? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I could be mistaken but was under the assumption that the OEM tint is where the actual glass is tinted and is not a tint film. That being said, if your tint is bubling it is prob after market.

Last year I had to remove tint to get it retinted in a lighter shade due to local laws. O peeled the tint off as much as I could by just peeling it off. This leaves the glue behind. From there I used WD40 (not sprayed directly on glass) and a soapy brillo pad to get the glue off. Once it was all off I religously cleaned the windows to get all the WD40 off

.

Yes it's film and not glass. Thanks for the info guys, now I can get that bubbly crap off my window so I can actually see!
