Just want everybody's opinion: What transmission is best suited to a Bronco II?

please do a search this has been talked about many times and there is a tech library that has some great information about what transmission will work for the B2.

Yes. Search.

Depends on a lot of things... What are your plans? Auto manual. Stock motor? And more.

Mdo5 for manual
A4ld for auto. Don't hate. My a4ld has been great to me.

depends what YOU consider best. Most bulletproofable, upgradable, reliable... is going to be a C5.

My A4ld has been good. But reverse just went out this weekend, along with slippage from 2-3 and rarley hits 4th. forget od.
Headed for the shop to get a final decision and possible rebuild. 2000.:annoyed:

man... do the work yourself. an a4ld is an easy trans to rebuild!

If i had the time to do it i would. But i need to have the vehicle up and running. And i dont know many people around here that would help me if i ran into issues.
the warranty is like 50,000/36 mo.
And see...... Im kind of an idiot when it comes to trannies.

Who needs a transmission. Just put some really low gears in the back and hook a TC right to a drive shaft. You'll be fine.

Pfff, transmission. What crazy fancy features will these kids want next, pneumatic tires?

Probably an M5OD or an A4ld built to explorer specs.

I am kinda in the same bout when it comes to the reverse going out in the A4LD. But i bought all the parts to rebuild it for about 150 bucks. know just got to find the time to do it is another story.

Twister: what clutch am I gonna have to get for the M5OD? Also is the starter gonna be different?
