My 86 bronco ii left me stranded today. Just driving down road it died, would not fire back up. I towed it home and changed fuel filter because I have had some fuel problems before with it, didn't fit it. Got to checking it out and noticed the fuel pump comes on and off very erratically when you turn the key on before cranking. Sounds like the relay is chattering. I finally for it to fire up after messing with relays, inertia switch and just unplugging connectors and it would only idle. Touch the pedel and it dies. And now it's back to not cranking at all??????? Any idea on where to start? Oh and it has no codes for koeo

Borrow a fuel pressure gauge, I bet you have none.

Found the problem, it was EEC relay. It caused all kinds of crazy problems. After testing then replacing it, I took it apart and the contact for the output was corroded bad. Now it runs great.

Glad you found the problem and posted what it was.
