Bronco II/Ranger Engine Swap

I have a 2wd 83 ranger. I was planning on switching it to 4 but its to expensive. I found a cheap bronco II 4x4 that needs a new engine and i was wondering if I could just drop mine into and have it running.

What year is the Bronco II and what size motor is in your Ranger?

What transmissions are in each? (as in a manual in the Ranger and an auto in the BII or whatever)
